The former NBA player is in hot water
Former NBA player Shannon Brown has been arrested for aggravated assault after an incident at his home in Georgia, as first reported by TMZ. The alleged incident, which took place on May 2, occurred when a couple looking for homes in Tyrone, Georgia noticed a "for sale" sign in Brown's front yard. Interested in touring the house, the couple noticed Brown's gate was open, and after reportedly announcing their intentions, claim they were told to come in.
Brown allegedly confronted them after that before letting them leave. The couple claims, however, that Brown fired five or six gunshots at them as they left. A police spokesperson says that they found one shell casing in the area, and proceeded to arrest Brown for aggravated assault. Nobody was injured in the incident.
Brown bonded out of jail on May 4. He has not yet issued a public comment. He does not have a prior criminal record.
Brown has not played in the NBA since the 2014-15 season. He was selected No. 25 overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2006, and spent parts of two seasons there before landing with the Chicago Bulls. He ultimately played for eight total teams: the Cavaliers, Bulls, Charlotte Bobcats, Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns, Miami Heat, New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs. He also played in the D-League and the BIG3.
