KBO odds, picks, lines, predictions, schedule, best bets for May 29: This three-way parlay pays almost 3-1
The Hanwha Eagles are struggling mightily as they are in the midst of their second five-game losing streak of the season. However, they have a golden opportunity to end their current slide as they prepare to face the worst team in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) in the SK Wyverns. Hanwha visits SK in one of five KBO series openers that begin at 5:30 a.m. ET on Friday. The Wyverns registered one of their four victories of 2020 in their season-opening set against the Eagles, who also lost five straight from May 8-13. Hanwha suffered a 3-0 setback against the LG Twins on Thursday while SK posted a 6-1 victory over the Doosan Bears.
The latest KBO odds from William Hill have the Wyverns as the -125 (risk $125 to return $100) favorites against the Eagles, the Kia Tigers at -150 against the Twins, the Bears at -180 against the Lotte Giants, the Kiwoom Heroes at -190 against the KT Wiz and the NC Dinos at -240 against the Samsung Lions. Before locking in any KBO picks for Friday's games, be sure to see the Korean baseball best bets from SportsLine data engineer Mike McClure.
Recognized in the book "Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn your hobby into a Fortune" as a top Daily Fantasy Baseball Player, McClure has won almost $2 million in daily Fantasy sports. And in 2016, McClure launched the wOBA Projection Model for MLB picks, which has returned $2,300 to $100 bettors. If anybody knows how to spot value in baseball lines, it's him.
Now, he's turned his attention to the KBO and locked in three strong picks for Friday. Parlaying his three selections would pay out almost 3-1. You can only see them here.
Top Korean Baseball predictions for May 29
One of McClure's top KBO picks for Friday: He's backing the Bears (-180) to hand the Giants their third consecutive loss in their series opener.
The Bears came up short on Thursday in their attempt to sweep their three-game set against the Wyverns, dropping a 6-1 decision in the finale. Doosan managed to register only three hits in the setback, but one of those was recorded by Jose Fernandez, who leads the KBO with a .470 batting average. The former Los Angeles Angels infielder also drove in the Bears' lone run, giving him a team-high 21 RBIs as he sits three behind Kia's Preston Tucker for the league lead. Fernandez could have a field day against Lotte's Noh Kyung-eun, who enters his fourth start of the year with a 6.00 ERA.
"I picked up a big win betting against the Bears on Thursday, but they offer nice value tonight as large home favorites," McClure told SportsLine. "Former MLB right-hander Raul Alcantara is the better pitcher in this matchup by a wide margin."
